Jersey Overseas Aid is the Island’s official, publicly-funded relief and development agency.

JOA’s mission is to translate the generosity, skills and compassion of the people of Jersey into effective assistance for the world’s most vulnerable people.

Where we work - current grants

JOA concentrates its development grants on six countries selected for their need, low levels of corruption and strength of relationship with Jersey. Our target countries are Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Zambia and Nepal. JOA also supports Jersey Charities working overseas and provides humanitarian assistance in many other countries.

Biodiversity Conservation and Rural Livelihoods: A Shared Future

JOA and Durrell are teaming up to host their second joint conference which will be held in London on October 12–13, 2023. Stakeholders are getting together to share insights on the interface between climate change mitigation, wildlife conservation and rural development projects.
