Whilst a career in international development can be incredibly rewarding, getting your first job can be hard. The aim of the scheme is to equip the successful candidate with the skills and experience necessary to enable them to take frontline roles with international relief and development organisations.
This exciting internship programme – run in partnership with leading UK charities – gives someone from Jersey the chance to spend eighteen months learning the ropes with the professionals, including six months working in the JOA office, and twelve months in an international Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which will culminate with a field placement in a developing country.
No age-limit applies, and career-changers are welcome. You must be entitled to live and work in Jersey, having been born or spent at least five continuous years on the Island.
